The Vashon Island Strawberry Festival literally started off with a bang at the Beer Garden Friday at 6pm. Ferry riders should plan for traffic control changes at the Fauntleroy ferry terminal in West Seattle starting July 17.

My interest in the class came from two motivations. I’ve been wanting to write about why we, as a species, fail to plan ahead, in the light of the very probable disastrous consequences of climate change.
