Heritage Museum Seeks Vietnam Veterans

The Vashon Maury Island Heritage Museum is planning an exhibit for October 2011 titled ‘Home of Record: Vashon and the Viet Nam War’. A key feature of this exhibit is a special recognition in memory of the twelve Vashon-Maury veterans whose names are on the Vashon Vietnam Veterans Memorial. We would like to contact any family members of these men:

Danny Cleon Barnes
David Marshall Davies
William Robert De Vore
Walter Larry Ferrell
David Terrance Hake
Donald Steven Holke
David Leslie Mace
John Vilnis Raaum
Frank William Selden
John Leonard Stewart
J Athan Theodore
Larry Verlyn Wallace

The Museum would also like to honor all those Vietnam Era Veterans who either enlisted or were drafted from Vashon-Maury Island, or who now reside on Vashon-Maury Island. If you are a Vietnam Ear Veteran or know a Vietnam Era Veteran, please contact the Vashon-Maury Island Heritage Museum so we can properly honor those who served their country during this era.

In addition, the Heritage Museum is searching for artifacts, photographs, and memoires from this era on Vashon-Maury Island so we can adequately represent what the Island experienced during this era from 1960 to 1975.

Thank you for any help you can provide in this search. If you have any information for this exhibit please contact the Museum or curators at:
