LeRoy Bell & His Only Friends perform at Ober Park

Northwest singer/songwriter LeRoy Bell and His Only Friends will heat up the Ober Park stage this July. Their sold out VAA show earlier this year received rave audience reviews.

For their summer gig, the trio will pick up the pace and pump up the volume for the outdoor venue. Joined by bass player and vocalist Terry Morgan along with Davis Martin on drums and percussion, they will perform a lively concert comprised of both original music from Bell’s five CD’s and covers.

Bell’s vocals have been called a unique combination of Seal, Richie Havens and Art Garfunkel. Whether it’s blues, rock, soul or all of the above, Bell has garnered loyal fans and critics.

Bell’s songs have been recorded by The Spinners, The O’Jays, The Temptations, Rita Marley and Elton John. He performed with B.B. King, Etta James, Al Green, Taj Mahal, Los Lobos and many others.

They recently played Portlands’ Rose Festival. "We’re always adding something new to our song list. When it’s outdoors it’s more of a party," added Bell. Summer Concerts in the Park are cosponsored by Vashon Park District and Vashon Allied Arts.
