Birthday month: Caity will be 26. Then two weeks later Joe will be 30. Four days later Isaac turns 35 . Four days after that Chris turns 35.

The 8:00 miracle was discovering the winter schedule had gone into effect. Instead of ‘maybe gonna make it’, for the 8:40, I was checking emails waiting for an 8:55.

Saying good-bye to 2013 is such a momentous relief, such an iconic reality of courage and victory, words have seemed simultaneously inadequate and explicitly relevant. Watching it slip away brings no sense of loss. Blech….2013…what an awful year for so many.

Jolly old Jesus, lean your ear this way….   Have a Holly Jolly Jesus…    Yes, we need a little Jesus, right this very minute…

That someone on Ebay was selling a version of the Multiform Bender for $40 is kind of astounding. More startling still was finding out that Kalamazoo was buying all of JA Richards and tearing it down to develop more parks and recreation green spaces.

Clearly a memo had been sent out that Thursday was ‘Take Your Car to Work Day". ‘Clogged’ would be under descriptive to ‘show not tell’ about the roadways. North, South, East, West, every car was in lock step with overflow.

He stands in the doorway holding a plastic owl with absolutely no expression on his face and an explosion of laughter that immediately brings me to tears causing me to clutch the pillow on my right side as tightly as possible alternately exclaiming "ouch, ouch, oh! oh!"
