We made it! ZOMBiEZ (or what we’re realizing will forever be known as "the old Dairy Queen") turned one this month. We would like to give a big heart felt "Thank you" to everyone who has supported and encouraged us through this roller coaster ride of a first year. We still feel a little wet behind the ears in some ways and in others we feel like old pros. Old worn out pros : ) It’s been a year of many hurdles, lots of lessons learned and most importantly bonds formed with many of you.

Vashon Solar LLC begins promotion to install solar panels at Harbor School

Perfect weather boosts the energy and enthusiasm of the Vashon Solar LLC group! We are gathering interested parties to learn about participation in a community solar project available to individuals.

State energy incentives are available through a community solar program. Vashon Solar LLC is such a program organized as an LLC ready to install a 9 kW solar panel array at the Harbor School on Vashon Island School District property.

It started a little over 6 years ago on our first visit to Vashon. We took a day trip to the island after feeling a little home sick for our Caribbean home and immediately fell in love with this Northwest version of island life.

We took a day trip to the island after feeling a little home sick for our Caribbean home and immediately fell in love with this Northwest version of island life. We stopped at Zoomies for ice-cream and thought what a neat place it was. We jokingly said if we moved to the island Zoomies would be our new hang out. Who would have guessed years later we’d own that very same restaurant and it is indeed our very own local hang out.

Islander Mathilda Oldham, owner and proprietor of the original Vashon Vintage, still located in a repurposed old garage behind what used to be Old Dreams which then became the Vashon Wine Shop and is now Urban Cottage, has opened a new satellite retail outlet in the main downtown Vashon commercial corridor immediately next to Robinsons Furniture

Vashon Vintage Uptown officially opened its doors on June 3, Vashon Island's traditional "first Friday".
