Born in Los Angeles and raised in San Antonio Texas, artist Vince Mira’s rise to fame has captivated America. Discovered while playing for tips in Seattle’s Pike Place Market, his rapid rise to prominence led to a debut EP and a 2nd full-length album produced by John Carter Cash. Both recorded at the Cash Cabin and followed by a veritable media frenzy. The young baritone with the big voice has been featured on "Good Morning America", "The Ellen Degeneres Show" and "Inside Edition" and has played the Austin City Limits Festival, Bumbershoot, the mainstage at the Sasquatch Festival and has showcased at SXSW. He is now in the process of writing and recording his 3rd album.
Many of you will remember Vince Mira’s electrifying performance at The Church of Great Rain a couple of years back - now you will be able to see him up close and live in a unique intimate performance.
Opening for Vince will be Spank Williams. Spank Williams is a ukulele-washboard band with a special brand of star-spangled old-fangled country and western music. Rested and refreshed from our whirlwind Telegram Tour 2012 - which was funded by a Kickstarter campaign where folks ordered singing telegrams for far-flung loved ones anywhere near our tour route - we are ready to take on 2013 with even more tightly-harmonized murder ballads and venerated hits from our fathers’ record collections. We try to put in a lot of visual appeal with our act, which includes not only our big smiles and charming costumes, but also art shows that we produce. Last year’s tour yielded our "Surveyors and Purveyors of Americana" show of images and items we collected on our roadtrip of the American west. This year, we are working on a show of 3D photos that we are taking and plan to show in big-as-life format. Whether it’s on stage, in a gallery, or on a picnic bench in Montana, Spank Williams never fails to entertain.
