The National Weather Service has indicated that SNOW SHOWERS WILL CONTINUE TO MOVE INTO OUR AREA FROM THE WEST THROUGH TONIGHT...WITH SOME AREAS RECEIVING SPOTTY, HEAVY SNOW. A STRONG WINTER STORM WILL AFFECT ALL OF WESTERN WASHINGTON LATE TUESDAY NIGHT THROUGH WEDNESDAY. SIGNIFICANT SNOWFALL ACCUMULATIONS ARE LIKELY. MORE SNOW IS EXPECTED THURSDAY THROUGH NEXT WEEKEND. We may be faced with wet & heavy snow in the next few days - causing trees and power lines to come down. _If you spot a downed power line on the ground, please assume it is live and do not attempt to go near it. Most likely, Small dead-end roads on the island will not be plowed.

If at all possible, please do not drive and keep your car at home. This could avoid potential abandoned vehicles in the middle of the road which could cause barriers for Sanding trucks treating the roads. IF YOU MUST TRAVEL IN THE AREA...CARRY AN EXTRA FLASHLIGHT... FOOD...WATER... AND BLANKETS IN CASE OF EMERGENCY. __________________________________________________________________ With a major snow storm forecast to hit King County early Wednesday, King County Metro Transit is keeping its buses on snow routing until future notice.
