Teatro Minestrone’s Around the World in 8 Stories.

Written by Brendan Healy and directed by K. Brian Neel, this new play will be performed FREE in parks around Seattle in July – and in the Open Space Outdoor Meadow on Sunday, August 3, at 2pm.

 The travelling Italian theatre troupe that brought The Totally True and Almost Accurate Adventures of Pinocchio to Seattle in 2013 is back! Since performing in Seattle last summer, this band of actors toured the globe performing their Pinocchio before royalty and peasantry alike on nearly every continent. Now they have returned to Seattle equipped with stories from many of the countries they visited, with fairytales both beloved and obscure from England, Russia, India, Japan and other countries, as Teatro Minestrone serves up storytelling flavors from around the world.

 Teatro Minestrone’s Around the World in 8 Stories returns many actors from last year’s production (with Balagan Theater) and features Sharon Barto, Erin Bednarz, Ben Burris, Rachel Delmar, Norah Elges, David Brown King, Jordi Montes, Andrew Murray, and Shane Regan.

Teatro Minestrone Around the World in 8 Stories is supported by grants from 4Culture and the Mayor’s Office of Arts and Culture smART ventures program.

Since its inception in 1997, 14/48: The World’s Quickest Theater Festival had been produced by One World Theatre and Three Card Monty. In 2013, the producers formed a new non-profit organization, The 14/48 Projects (the1448projects.org), charged with producing the festival in all of its iterations in Seattle, as well as helping bring the festival to new cities in the U.S. and abroad. The 14/48 Projects will also produce Theater Anonymous and is forming partnerships to support other local productions. The 14/48 Projects is led by President Jodi-Paul Wooster and Executive Director Shawn Belyea.
