Now Vashon Gets an Ice Day

First snow now an ice storm has canceled schools and meeting on Vashon. Many island businesses remained closed for a second day in a row. Many people found themselves Iced In when they woke up Thursday Morning. Roads still closed on Vashon include;

SW 268th St. between 99th Ave SW and 94th Ave SW
103rd Ave SW (Also known as “Ferry Hill”) between Vashon Hwy SW and SW 112th St. 87th Ave SW between SW Cemetery Rd. and Dockton Rd. SW

A power line was across the street at 59th Av SW and SW 248th on Maury.

King County buses – including 118 and 119 on Vashon – remain on snow routes

The National Weather Service, meanwhile, issued an ice storm warning for the Seattle area Thursday morning and is urging residents not to travel until conditions improve.

The Vashon school district, Harbor School and Vashon Park District has canceled all events for Thursday.

The Icy conditions have even delayed the distribution of the Loop till Friday.

My dogs were disappointed the once fluffy playful snowwas now frozen ice they discovered when they went out to play.

Precipitation should change from freezing rain to just rain by afternoon.
