Missing Island Man Found In Home Near Luana Beach

Jack Randal, an 83-year-old man missing since Wednesday evening, was found Saturday afternoon in a home on Luana Beach Road. The owners of the home are away on vacation. Randal was found after the daughter of the homeowners went to check on the house.

She saw that the house had been entered and called 911.

Randal wandered into the unlocked house sometime Thursday or Friday afternoon. When King County authorities arrived at the house, Saturday afternoon, Randal was sleeping in one of the beds.

Randal who has Alzheimer’s disease triggered and extensive two day search Thursday and Friday. Several search dogs and a helicopter with heat-seeking cameras was deployed.

Randal was being taken to the hospital Saturday afternoon, with only scraps on his knees and a scratch on the head. He was not hypothermic and was able to speak and seemed to be in fine condition
