Island man rams King County Sheriff's car, sets off man hunt

A Vashon Island man rammed a King County Patrol car around 8:30pm Saturday. The officer fired at the red pickup truck the suspect was driving, but he got away. The suspect was wanted for allegedly making threats on Saturday after displaying erratic behavior. The suspect allegedly tried to run over the deputy as the officer was outside his vehicle.
Sheriff spokesperson DB Gates Tweeted that officials were asking Vashon residents to call 911 if they see a red 1976 Ford pickup truck with no tailgate and no rear license plate with possible rear-end damage.  As of Saturday night, Guardian One was flying over the island in an attempt to spot the suspect and K9s were stationed around the island, as well.
The suspect was located in an unoccupied house on the 24600 block of Dockton Road SW and was located by police at about 4:30 a.m. on Sunday. He attempted to run on foot, but was tasered and arrested.
According to Gates, the suspect was booked into King County Jail for investigation of felony assault, attempting to elude police and burglary. The deputy who fired the shots has been placed on administrative leave per King County policy.
