Holiday Concert and Fundraiser for the Vashon Maury Food Bank

This event, in it’s third year running, is a benefit for the Vashon Maury Food Bank, organized by the music duo Kat Eggleston and Kate MacLeod. This year the duo has invited special guest Joe Jencks to add his beautiful vocal and instrumental work to the event. The event accepts non-perishable food items and monetary donations in any form. Search your cabinets for a can of chili or a box of pasta, empty your change jar, bring your check book, but most of all bring your generous spirit and join in on the post-Christmas fun. In the spirit of community please come hear the music even if you feel you can’t afford to donate.

The musicians will perform their original music, adding renditions of holiday and solstice music. Kat Eggleston, native of Vashon Island, has performed internationally and has recorded several CDs of her own material. She has also accompanied many of the finest musicians on the folk circuit including David Munnelly and the Irish group Bohola. Kate MacLeod is parttime on the island these days, with an active traveling schedule. Kate’s highly acclaimed songs often precede her as other artists sing them on stages across the country and Sing Out! Magazine says Kate "channels the spirit of the great Carter Family classics." Kate and Kat accompany each other in a performing duo that has spanned 12 years and two full-length recordings. Joe Jencks, who has roots in the Pacific Northwest, is noted for his unique merging of musical beauty, social consciousness, and spiritual exploration. Jencks weaves a diverse web of stories with brilliant musical skill. Expect some delicious three-part harmony as the three musicians join voices in closing the end of a year.
