Fallen Tree Causes Power outage on South end of Vashon

Puget Sound Energy reports that power is restored to all but 60 customers effected by this morning's power outage on Vashon Island's south end, including Burton. PSE estimates power will be restored to those last 60 customers by 4:00PM today, Monday, March 5.

The original outage, at 8AM today, was caused by a tree falling on a power line at 111th Ave. While there is some speculation the downed line may have ignited a nearby transformer, that is not confirmed.

Remember: Stay well clear of all downed power lines. If you see a downed power line, assume it is still energized and dangerous. Notify PSE if you see a downed power line or are without service. You can call them at 1-888-225-5773.
