Cascadia ’10

Cascadia ’10 is the echo of Afrobeat in the Pacific Northwest–a sound resonating from Nigeria to the Emerald City. They are a small army of 11 experienced musicians, bringing hypnotically funky music to hips and feet wherever they go. They have opened for national acts, such as Garaj Mahal, and they will be recording a live radio broadcast for KEXP in May, which will be available for download this summer.

C10′s music consists mostly of original pieces, but it inherits from the rich legacy of Fela Kuti, Tony Allen, Femi Kuti & Seun Kuti, and the wellspring of music from Nigeria and throughout western Africa. Their goal is to lift people up by playing tight in the groove, making a night with Cascadia ’10 a party that is not to be missed, and one that will not easily be forgotten.
