Wednesday, July 13, 2011 will be the annual Vashon Maury Island Audubon Society meeting, featuring a program presentation by Nate Chappell. Nate Chappell is a lucky man who appears to be living a dream life that many would envy. He organizes and leads small (2-10 individuals) group tours to exciting birding hot spots all over the world, including many locations in the Pacific Northwest where he is based. He specializes in photography focused excursions, with an emphasis on capturing spectacular wild bird images.

The focus of the program on July 13th, for the armchair birders and the world travelers among us, will be Birds of Thailand and Namibia. For those of us who aren't planning on hopping on a plane anytime soon, this will be a great opportunity to vicariously bird a bit farther afield. For those of us who have been thinking of taking such a trip and need a little logistical help getting to the right spots, Nate Chappell's company is Trogon Tours, Inc. and it specializes in photo nature tours to some of the most beautiful locations on earth. The website for Trogon Tours is www.trogontours.net .

The program will be held at at 7:00 pm at the Vashon Maury Island Land Trust building. As always, the program is free, and all are welcome. Please see vashonaudubon.org for more information.
