Stitchin For a Kitchen Senior Center Fundraiser

Vashon knitters known as the LOAFers (Ladies of the Afghan Fundraiser) have been knitting and crocheting a collection of Tea Cozys, cup cozy and many more items that are considered cozy. Talented people have also contributed to the ’’ Stitchin’ for a Kitchen "fundraiser for the Vashon Senior Center. The Center is in need of a new stove and dishwasher to replace its over 30 year old appliances.
 
On Saturday, May 4th from 9:30-3 knitters will sit and knit in front of shops and businesses from Burton to Vashon town. Knitters will be at the Farmers Market 10-2 and at the Senior Center on Bank Road - 9:30-3 selling the Cozy items.
 
The knitters around the town have been sponsored by friends and family and Vashon businesses. They will also be asking the public for donations and also knitting pieces to be made into lap afghans for distribution at the Center.
 
Many of the Cozy’s can be seen on display at the Vashon Tea Shop for the remainder of this month.
