Passport to Pain: A Stage Hill Climb Cycling Ride around Vashon Island

VIRC is holding its’ 3rd annual Passport to Pain bike ride on Saturday, September 14, 2013. Dubbed as "a hair-raiser of a fund raiser", the event has grown in popularity in just three short years. The rowing club expects double the registration from last year, estimating 300 or more riders with family supporters.

Last year, the event organizers added a bike themed guest presentation the night before. He participated in the ride as well and then blogged about it (www.adventurecycling.org/resources/blog/passport-to-pain/).

This year the same is planned for Friday the 13th. The guest is 1980 Tour de France cyclist Marcel Russenberger. There will be stories, movies, and camaraderie for guests. Sponsored by Andrew Will Winery and Georgetown Brewery.

There’s a lot of buzz about this ride! Check out the website: www.passport2pain.org and our Facebook page www.facebook.com/Passport2Pain).
