Heron’s Nest invites you to their grand reopening celebration First Friday, March 2. Heron’s Nest, Vashon Allied Arts’ retail uptown store, located between Blooms and The Tea Shop, provides a retail outlet for a wide variety of fine art and handcrafted items created by Island-based and regional artists on consignment basis.
VAA recently hired Ellen Parker as Heron’s Nest new manager. Parker brings an extensive background anchored in local arts and crafts-related retail experience and the creative business world. Heron’s Nest will be closed from February 15 until March 1 for a store facelift and reorganization.
"During this season of rebirth, we refocus the mission of VAA’s art & crafts retail space to support Vashon artists and craftspeople. If you are an artist and have yet to share your work by consigning at Heron’s Nest, we’d love to hear from you," says Parker.
Parker and her husband, Jason Staczek and six-year-old Ivy love living on Vashon. "My family is a family of artists and I know we have found our niche here on Vashon."
